Covid-19 Pandemi Sürecinde Ortaokul ve Lise Öğrencilerinin Depresyon ve Anksiyete Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Abstract

In this research, it was aimed to examine the possible differences in the anxiety and depression levels of secondary and high school students during the Covid-19 pandemic process according to some demographic variables. Research data was collected with the Demographic Information Form and Child Anxiety and Depression Scale-Revised Form. The study group consists of 191 secondary school (47%) (117 girls, 74 boys) and 215 high school (53%) (141 girls, 74 boys) students who continue their education in the spring semester of 2020-2021 academic year. The students are between the ages of 10-19 and the average age is 14.76 (Secondary school, X̅ =13,07; High School, X̅ =16,26). According to the results, there are significant differences between the groups in terms of students' anxiety levels and the type of school, gender, the status of disease contamination to themselves or others, the duration and purpose of internet use after the pandemic, the anxiety level about the epidemic and the implementation level of the measures related to the epidemic. Moreover, students' depression levels differ significantly according to the variables of school type, gender, duration and purpose of internet use before and after the pandemic, the anxiety level about the epidemic, and the implementation level of measures.
