“…The estimated crude reporting rates in this study are comparable to the report by Wang and colleagues, who evaluated the data from the Australia Therapeutic Goods Administration Database of Adverse Event Notifications, the Canada Vigilance Adverse Reaction Database, the European Union Medicines Agency (EudraVigilance) System, and the United Kingdom Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency between December 2020 and August 2021. 25 In this study cohort, a substantial proportion of the patients were women and between 50-70 years. The data analysis of this cohort shows that the patients typically presented with signs of glaucoma in the first 24-48 hours post-vaccination and the incidence was higher after the first dose.…”

“…While the prognosis for BCVA and for graft survival were good overall, 25% of the PKP eyes with acute corneal allograft rejection following SARS-CoV-2 vaccination had incomplete resolution or graft failure, and although the risk of graft failure due to rejection after EK is relatively low (Price et al, 2018;Stulting et al, 2018) as many as 20-25% of EK eyes may be at risk of decreased corneal transparency or graft failure due to immune reaction after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. The main strengths of our study are: (1) Our database search enabled us to find the largest number of reported cases (more than the previous summary of evidence), (Wang et al, 2022) and is the only study summarizing evidence including published data in 2022, being the most up to date database search available; and (2) we provide an in-depth analysis of potentially confounding factors and of the clinical outcomes of acute corneal allograft rejection following SARS-CoV-2 vaccination. The main limitation of this review is the fact that only case reports or small case series were found in the literature search.…”

“…We reported six patients with infectious ocular disorders after the first dose of inactivated COVID-19 vaccine, including four cases of ARN, one case of herpetic neuritis, and one case of ocular toxoplasmosis. Herpetic eye disorders have previously been reported after mRNA and vector vaccines, and presented as conjunctivitis, stromal keratitis, and herpes zoster ophthalmicus [29]. ARN has previously been reported to occur after the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine in immunocompetent individuals [30,31], or in COVID-19 positive patients [32].…”
