As times change, a shift is observed in the background of economic stories or myths, which are created by social actors under the guise of prostitution as a means to fulfil a wish. The aim of this article is to examine the social structure of society within the Mount Kemukus Ritual Tourism Area. The writing methodology employed is a qualitative ethnographic approach, utilized to analyze findings from the community regarding changes in the structure of society. The subjects involved in this research encompass the community, tourist visitors, tourism services, academics, cultural activists, and relevant research. The research findings reveal that the social structure of society within the Mount Kemukus Ritual Tourism Area is characterised by a growing belief in the myth of the invisible quest for wealth. These beliefs stem from Javanese teachings or traditions, shaping the societal model around Mount Kemukus into a prismatic society. This signifies a societal model whose developmental trajectory is beginning to diverge from the original unified structure, yet has not fully transitioned to the modern divided structure. The orientation towards a prismatic society entails the coexistence of traditional and modern elements that complement each other.

Institutions, technology and resource integration in the value co-creation process: a study of service-dominant logic in higher education

PurposeThis paper analyzes the value creation process in terms of the relationships between institutions, technology, integration of resources and contextual value. The study was conducted within an online learning setting in higher education, and utilized service-dominant logic as a basis for analysis.Design/methodology/approachA total of 349 responses were collected through an online survey. After removing data from respondents who did not meet the criteria and outliers, 280 responses were analyzed. Furthermore, six hypotheses were tested using structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques.FindingsThe results confirm that institutions are proven to influence technology and resource integration. The technology significantly affects resource integration and value-in-context. Likewise, resource integration determines value-in-context remarkably. On the other hand, this study found no evidence of the impact of institutions on value-in-context.Research limitations/implicationsThe study has been conducted in the Jabodetabek area, with a sample size of only 280. An extensive survey, including a larger sample size, may reveal a broader glimpse of the value co-creation process of students in higher education institutions. Only three antecedents of contextual value have been explored, namely institutions, technology and resource integration. More strengthening and detailed findings could be derived if the antecedents of the contextual value addressed could be added. In the sampling, the researchers have used non-probability sampling for collecting data due to various constraints. The use of the probabilistic sampling method might have given some new insights to the study and made the sample more representative. The convenient sampling method employed in this study may limit the generalization of this study's findings. Therefore, the findings of the hypothesis test only apply to the selected sample data. Another limitation of the study is that the survey respondents represented an urban Indonesian perspective. So, replication of this study in different areas (e.g. west, east and central Indonesia) would help to generalize the findings. In this study, there is no evidence that institutions have a direct impact on contextual value. The authors suggest reexamining the relationship between institutions and contextual value in future studies.Originality/valueIn particular, the authors have succeeded in designing a new empirical model in higher education based on the perspective of service-dominant logic (S-D logic). This finding further strengthens the existence of the perspective of S-D logic as a new general theory of the market.

The Cembengan ceremony is a Slametan tradition commonly practised by sugar factories before the milling season. This ritual is a prayer for high productivity and excellent safety performance in the workplace during the milling process. Wayang is then played as the highlight of the event with Semar Mbangun Kahyangan as one of the usually performed stories. This study seeks to answer this question: What are the traditional safety concepts staged in the Slametan tradition in the workplace? This study used a content analysis approach to identify, analyse, and categorise the recording data of a wayang performance with the story of Semar Mbangun Kahyangan performed by Ki Dalang Hadi Soegito. This study has found that besides human destiny had been written by God, the meaning of Safety can be pursued through a multidimensional harmony, known as manunggaling kawula-Gusti (vertical harmony), silaturahmi (horisontal harmony), the harmony among five knights of Pandawa as a symbol of the physical harmony of five senses (sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch) and psychological-spiritual harmony. The second finding is that a safety attitude is fostered in line with human development, which is symbolised in Wayang's storyline, first, on the Pathet Enem (infancy to adolescent) safety attitude generated by right-wrong consideration. Second, a safety attitude is an ethical decision within Pathet Sanga (early to middle adulthood). Last, at Pathet Mayura (late adulthood), a safety attitude is a spiritual achievement.
