The clinical pathway (CP) as a novel medical management schema is beneficial for reducing the length of stay, decreasing heath care costs, standardizing clinical activities, and improving medical quality. However, the practicability of CPs is limited by the complexity and expense of adding the standard functions of electronic CPs to existing electronic medical record (EMR) systems. The purpose of this study was to design and develop an independent clinical pathway (ICP) system that is sharable with different EMR systems. An innovative knowledge base pattern was designed with separate namespaces for global knowledge, local knowledge, and real-time instances. Semantic web technologies were introduced to support knowledge sharing and intelligent reasoning. The proposed system, which was developed in a Java integrated development environment, achieved standard functions of electronic CPs without modifying existing EMR systems and integration environments in hospitals. The interaction solution between the pathway system and the EMR system simplifies the integration procedures with other hospital information systems. Five categories of transmission information were summarized to ensure the interaction process. Detailed procedures for the application of CPs to patients and managing exceptional alerts are presented by explicit data flow analysis. Compared to embedded pathway systems, independent pathway systems feature greater feasibility and practicability and are more advantageous for achieving the normalized management of standard CPs.

Abstract The prevalence of cataracts in Indonesia is very high, this can affect the quality of life, productivity and social aspects will cause the nation's economy to be in a low-level position. Cataract problems certainly need to be considered more, however, on the other hand, the lack of experts (doctors) is an obstacle especially outside the city. Uneven distribution of experts will complicate the conditions for solving problems. With these conditions, a semantic-based information technology approach is needed regarding the treatment of patients with cataracts. Semantic information can provide knowledge to non-physician health workers, this will certainly facilitate the process of prevention and prevention of cataracts. In this research, knowledge is modeled using the ontology concept. We have built an ontology model that can be used as a guide to the management of cataract disease. To extract the built-in ontology model, simple protocol and RDF Language (SPARQL) are used as query languages. Apache Jena Fuseki is used to simplify the process of evaluating knowledge.

Medical guidelines are effective to guide medical practice and improve therapeutic effect. Currently, medical guidelines are primarily used in medical institutions but are still not available to the public. To improve the practicality of guidelines in family practice, this paper proposes a novel approach to assisting family medical decision support using semantic technology and open data analysis. A diseasespecific knowledge model is constructed using semantic guideline expressions, which provide standard care plans to the public. A medical text corpus is formed by collecting medical information from open data sources online. Via text mining and sentiment analysis of the medical text corpus, the word frequency and sentiment score of different medical procedures are calculated, which are used to provide detailed instructions for public treatment. A guideline-based knowledge model is constructed to create eczema-specific standard care plans. According to the resulting frequencies, hydrocortisone butyrate cream (HBC) elicited the most concern among hormone drugs (54%), followed by mometasone furoate cream (MFC), accounting for 28% among all hormone drugs. According to the average sentiment score, MFC is more frequently recommended than HBC. For skin care products, YMJ elicited the most concern, while Cetaphil was the most recommended. The results of the word frequency analysis and sentiment analysis are combined to provide detailed and clear recommendations to supplement standard care plans for family medical decision support. The method proposed by this paper is an important supplement and extension to in-hospital data analysis.
