Abstract:The heat treatment homogenized the β phase. The β phase was observed mainly at triple points of grain boundaries of the heattreated alloy. The time to rupture was ten times longer for the heat-treated alloy than for the cast alloy. The polarization and EIS tests indicated a slight improvement in corrosion resistance of the heat-treated alloy relative to the untreated one.
