Critical Phase Polymerizations

Abstract: Carbon dioxide is a versatile, environmentally benign solvent for the synthesis of many polymeric materials. This review focuses on recent advances in the utilization of liquid and supercritical CO 2 as a reaction medium for polymer synthesis. Polymerization techniques with both chain‐growth and step‐growth mechanisms are discussed, including free‐radical, metal‐catalyzed, ionic, and bulk polycondensation processes.
