Croissance de fibres polycristallines de composition eutectique AI2O3/Y3AI5O12 pour renforcement de composite

Abstract: : Eutectic fiber belongs to the Y20rAhO3 system were grown using Laser Heated Pedestal growth technique. We have controlled the fiber and diameter shape during the growth process. The interface of the melting zone was been plane. The fibers length was about few centimetre and are cracks and defects free. The eutectic fibers have high température strength properties, it was 577 MPa at 1500C.

“…This is performed, in particular, by adding Al 2 O 3 oxide in order to form eutectic YAG-Al 2 O 3 . In this case, it is easy to remove the melt from the crucible using high pulling rates (10 mm/min) [23,24].…”

“…In several applications, composite materials systems are very useful because of their good properties, and high strength combined with high toughness at high temperatures [1,2]. In this regard, several compounds were studied and many results were reported for Al 2 O 3 -based eutectic systems.…”

“…Significant improvements of both toughness and strength were also obtained when tetragonal ZrO 2 is added. Several methods have been used for the growth of eutectic structures including the Bridgman [7][8][9], floating molten zone [2,10], and micro-pulling down techniques [5,6]. The eutectic structures are complex, and different morphology can be observed such as lamellar, Chinesescript, and rod-like structure [5,[11][12][13].…”
