Show more

“…However, only agricultural variables partially influence environmental degradation (IKLH), while trade, industrial, and economic growth variables have no effect. The results of this analysis are in line with the opinion of the researchers [47][48][49], which implies a strong relationship between agriculture and environmental degradation. However, the results of this analysis are not in line with empirical research:…”

“…The results of this analysis are also in line with the opinion of the researchers [41][42][43][44][45], which proves the relationship and influence of the trade sector on economic growth. However, the results of this analysis are not in line with the opinion of the researchers [48], proving that there is a relationship and influence of the industrial sector on economic growth.…”

“…In the early 90s, a number of scientific studies set out to test the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis between economic growth and indicators of environmental degradation (SO2, NOX, CO2, CO, municipal waste and suspended particulates) (Grossman & Krueger, 1995;Panayotou, 1993;Shafik & Bandyopadhyay, 1992;Selden & Song, 1994). Several authors have offered a detailed review of empirical work on the relationship between economic growth and environmental quality, using per capita CO2 emissions as an indicator of environmental quality (Jalil & Mahmud, 2009;Shahbaz et al, 2014;Raheen & Ogebe, 2017;Domguia & Ndieupa, 2017). The diversity of work confirms that environmental problems differ from region to region and country to country.…”

“…However, we noted that previous studies used CO 2 as a proxy for decoupling economic growth and environmental pollution, and most of them had defined decoupling status only, without exact reasons.Furthermore, in Cameroon, the few studies available on the question of energy-related to environmental pollution such as those of (Tamba, 2017; Noubissi Domguia & Njangang, 2017; Hilaire & Hervé, 2012), [25][26][27] have only evaluated the causal relationships between environmental, economic, and energy factors. Based on these considerations, the objective of this study is to evaluate the decoupling relationship between economic growth and GHG emissions in Cameroon over the period 1971-2014, based on the Tapio model. The analyzes were carried out according to Cameroon's three major periods of economic development, particularly the period preceding the economic crisis (1971)(1972)(1973)(1974)(1975)(1976)(1977)(1978)(1979)(1980)(1981)(1982)(1983)(1984), the period of economic crisis (1984)(1985)(1986)(1987)(1988)(1989)(1990)(1991)(1992)(1993)(1994) and the period following the crisis (1994-2014).…”
