“…Inoculation of B. megaterium CHW-2 significantly increased the partial factor productivity, agronomic efficiency, apparent nutrient recovery, and physiological efficiency as compared to other inoculants under field conditions. These results are in agreement with the finding of several other studies which reported that PGPRs significantly increased the uptake and translocation of mineral nutrients from the soil and biofortified wheat and other crops (Adesemoye et al, 2008 ; Shaharoona et al, 2008 ; Arif et al, 2017 ; Çakmakçi et al, 2017 ; Di Benedetto et al, 2017 ; Pereira et al, 2020 ; Singh et al, 2020 ). Based on the results of the present investigation and the observations of the previous researchers, it can be summarized that zinc-solubilizing rhizobacteria can be used as an alternate strategy for in vivo Zn solubilization and enhance Zn uptake and translocation in the plants to cope with the Zn deficiency in wheat.…”

“…A systemic study on the effect of medium-term conservation practices on soil quality of semiarid and hot climate (northwestern IGP) under rice-mustard of cropping system was performed by Das et al (2021). However, a cropping system-based study in Lucknow region of India (mid-IGP) revealed that mustard-ricebased system had a more detrimental effect on soil quality (0.727) than lentil-rice (0.844), wheat-rice (0.780), potatogreen gram-rice (0.818) and wheat-green gram-pearl millet (0.818) cropping system with total culturable fungi, pH, water holding capacity and total carbon as key indicators (Singh et al, 2020). Basak et al (2015) reported better correlatability of chemical and biological attributes of ricepotato-sesame cropping system with equivalent rice yield across three soil orders (Inceptisol, Entisol and Alfisol) of subtropical eastern India, where dehydrogenase activity along with cation exchange capacity was selected as a best possible quality estimator.…”
