Abstract:Gaseous alkanes represent the most abundant carbon‐based chemical feedstocks in our planet. However, the intrinsic inertness of their C‐H bonds has rendered the use of these alkanes very difficult for purposes beyond aerobic combustion and energy intensive processes.
