“…Concentric zoning, location along deep fracture zone, the common occurrence of clinopyroxene and hornblende-rich lithologies, and the scarcity of orthopyroxene and plagioclase distinguish the AH intrusion from alpine-type and ophiolite bodies in orogenic belts and also from the stratiform layered intrusion in stable cratonic settings. These features make AH intrusion far more similar to Alaskan-type bodies, such as those found in Alaska, the Urals of Russia, and Canada (Irvine, 1974;Snoke et al, 1981;Fershtater et al, 1997;Batanova et al, 2005). Additional characteristics which support a petrologic kinship between AH intrusion and Alaskan-type complexes are: (1) the gradation from dunite to gabbros, (2) Fe +3 -and Ti-rich spinels, (3) extremely calcic composition and low Al 2 O 3 and TiO 2 contents of the clinopyroxene (4) depletion of olivine in CaO, and (5) evidence of crystal accumulation such as scarce graded layers.…”
