The crypto money system, which emerged in order to eliminate third parties in the financial system, was used as an investment tool over time, and even accepted as a national currency in some countries. Today, the crypto money system, which has turned into an important and large investment tool, has also started to be used in the sports industry. World-famous clubs such as Aston Martin Cognizant, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, FC Barcelona, Professional Fighters League have created their own cryptocurrencies. It is thought that the system will have an important place in the sports industry in the future. It is important that the students of the faculty of sports sciences, who will be employed in the sector, have awareness and knowledge about cryptocurrencies, which have become widespread in many sectors, including the sports sector. Therefore, this study was conducted to investigate the perceptions and awareness of cryptocurrencies of students studying at the faculty of sports sciences. The sample of the study consists of 201 students studying at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, Faculty of Sport Sciences. As a result of the study, the level of cryptocurrency perception of the students of the faculty of sports sciences was found to be moderate. Differences were determined in terms of variables such as having crypto money, level of recognition, gender, belief in the future of crypto and trust. It is thought that the study will contribute to the sports industry.
