Crystal growth and impact a Bisthiourea on structural, optical, thermal and mechanical behavior of Potassium sulphato oxalate a novel semi organic nonlinear optical material

Abstract: Semiorganic nonlinear optical single crystals of Bisthiourea potassium sulphato Oxalate (BTKSO) are successfully grown by slow solvent evaporation technique at ambient temperature. The structural property of grown BTKSO crystal was determined by single crystal X-Ray diffractometer. It reveals the triclinic structure with the space group of P1, and the lattice parameters are a = 9.4 ± 0.5Ǻ, b = 10.1 ± 0.5Ǻ, c = 15.7 ± 0.8Ǻ, V = 1400 ± 200Ǻ 3 . Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) studies substantiate the functiona… Show more

“…Oxalic acid is the best possible compound wherein two carboxyl groups are joined at once; due to this reason oxalic acid is one of the strongest acids among organic compounds. Apart from other carboxylic acids, oxalic acid is simply oxidized and combines easily with sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron to form less soluble salts referred to as oxalates . The oxalic ion is deeply engaged in building a large variety of molecular frameworks by incorporating appropriate metal ion in its crystal lattice .…”

“…The oxalic ion is deeply engaged in building a large variety of molecular frameworks by incorporating appropriate metal ion in its crystal lattice . On this basis, there are lot of researches which have been reported on oxalate based metallic ions such as potassium hydrogen oxalate by Jananakumar and Mani, sodium hydrogen oxalate by Rathiga Thaya Kumari et al., lithium hydrogen oxalate by Martin Britto Dhas and Natarajan, bisthiourea potassium sulphato oxalate by Manimekalai et al., and bisthiurea lithium sulphate oxalate by Kavitha et al . These materials have been proven to be good candidate for optical device fabrication.…”
