The Bi-O distances in typical crystals including Bi 3+ or Bi 5+ , such as LiBiO 3 (Kumada, Takahashi et al 1996) or Bi 2 O 4 (Kumada, Kinomura et al 1995), show that the Bi 5+ -O distance is 2.1 Å.
