Crystal structure of bis(2-pyrimidylthio)methane, C9H8N4S2

Abstract: Source of material 2-Mercaptopyrimidine (224 mg, 2.0 mmol) was added to a solution of NaOH (200 mg, 5 mmol) in 15 mL of absolute ethanol. After stirring for 2 hours, 4 mL of CH 2Cl2 diluted with 5 mL of absolute ethanol was added drop-wise to the sodium salt so-obtained, and the mixture was stirred at reflux overnight.
