Crystal structure of (E)-(2-((2,3-dihydrobenzo[b][1,4]dioxin-6-yl)methylene)- N-phenylhydrazinecarbothioamide, C16H15N3O2S

Abstract

C 16 H 15 N 3 O 2 S, triclinic, P1 (no. 2), a =5.2111(6) Å,Source of material 3,4-Dihydroxybenzoic acid (1 g) andsulfuricacid(2mL) were mixed in ethanol (20 mL)and refluxed for 5hours. After filtration and drying, 1,2-dibromoethane (1 g) and acetone (20 mL)were added and refluxed for 3hours. Then hydrazine hydrate (1 mL) was added and refluxed for another 4hours. After filtration and drying, phenyl isothiocyanate (2 g) and chloroform (20 mL)were added and refluxed for 4.5 hours. Thea bove solution was extracted and kept at room temperature for 2duntil crystals were obtained.
