Crystal structure of tetra(2-aminopyrimidine)dimethanolato-dinickel(II) di(tetrafluoroborate), [Ni2(CH3O)2(C4H5N3)4][BF4]2

Abstract: Source of materialNi(BF4)2 · 4H 2 O and 2-aminopyrimidine in a molar ratio of 1:2 were dissolved in methanol, and the resulting solution was kept standing in air for two days. The precipitated crystals were filtered, washed three times with methanol and dried in air (yield 63 %). Interestingly, during the crystallization, the presence of 5-bromosalicylaldehyde increases the yield of the product.
