Crystallization Kinetics and Magnetic Properties of Fe40Ni40B20 Bulk Metallic Glass

Abstract: Fe-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) have been extensively studied due to their potential technological applications and their interesting physical properties such as a low modulus of elasticity, high yielding stress and good magnetic properties. In the present work, the bulk metallic glass (BMG) formation of Fe 40 Ni 40 B 20 (numbers indicate at %) with a ribbon form was fabricated by the single roller melt-spinning method. Rapid solidification leads to a fully amorphous structure for all compositions. The t… Show more

“…Therefore, in our previous publications [5,15], GFA of a Fe-Mo-P-C-B BMG was enhanced by appropriate addition of Ni. Also, the effect of Ni addition on the GFA and ductility of other Fe-based BMGs such as [(Fe,Co,Ni) 0.75 B 0.2 Si 0.05 ] 96 Nb 4 [16], Fe-Ni-B-P-Nb [17], and Fe 40 Ni 40 B 20 [18] alloys have been investigated.…”
