Crystallographic and Magnetic Properties of Al3+co-doped NiZnFe2O4 Nano- particles Prepared by Sol-gel Process

Abstract: A l 2 O 3 SUBSTITUTED nickel zinc nano-ferrite Al x Ni 0.5-x Zn 0.5 Fe 2 O 4 (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) was prepared by the citrate sol-gel methodusing nickel, zinc, iron and aluminum nitratesand sintered at 800 o C for 3 h in air. Prepared nano-sized ferrites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, High resolution transmission and scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy. The estimated crystallite sizes were in the range of 24.7-32.9 nm. HR-TEM data appears that all nano-ferrit… Show more

“…The coercivity (Hc), saturation magnetization (Ms) and remanent magnetization (Mr) for all samples are listed in Table 6. The observed changes in the values of Ms, Hc and Mr with increasing of Al concentrations can be explained according to the expected changes in exchange interaction between the ions at tetrahedral (A) and octahedral (B) sites in ferrites upon the variation in chemical composition [42]. The saturation magnetization decreases with the increase in Al content (x), which is quite reasonable due to the substitution of magnetic Fe 3+ ions (5μB) by nonmagnetic Al 3+ ions (0 μB).…”

“…Infrared spectroscopy is studied to portray the synthesis of the Zn/Fe nanoparticles through sol-gel processes (hydrolysis and condensation) together with the expansion of the Polystyrene-polyethylene organic network during the synthesis and aging processes [4,23,24]. Evidence of the chemical structure of the PPFe and Zn doped nanocomposites, FTIR was used to allocate the altered characteristic absorption groups.…”
