IntroductionMusic training can provide benefits to psychological health and is strongly associated with adult attachment style and personality traits through bidirectional interactions.MethodsA large sample including 10,191 Chinese musicians and non-musicians completed the Relationship Questionnaire and Big-Five Personality Inventory.ResultsConnections between music training, adult attachment, and personality were analyzed with the following results: (1) personality traits were correlated with attachment dimensions, with positive correlations between secure attachment and extroversion and between dismissing attachment and neuroticism; (2) music training was connected with the secure and fearful-avoidant attachment dimensions, which complemented the effect of educational level in the preoccupied and dismissing dimensions; (3) music training enhanced extroversion, openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness, which interacted to affect extroversion and openness by gender; and (4) music training enhanced the regression of extroversion to preoccupied and secure attachments, and the regression of openness to preoccupied attachment.DiscussionConclusively, music training enhanced the connection between secure attachment and positive personality traits and regulated the correlation between insecure attachment and neuroticism. This analysis provides a large sample of statistical and practical evidence for the clinical practices of mental health and the educational and music training practices of co-cultivating cultural knowledge and artistic quality.

Chinese piano music is based on folk songs, Chinese poetry, and the ethnic style, which contribute to the expressiveness of the sound and refinement of the intonation and tonal system. The paper addresses the Chinese piano music and the role of composer Chu Wanghua in shaping contemporary piano traditions, using the ‘Sounds of the Temple’ capriccio suite as an example. Based on the direct method of standardization, the paper determined the significance of the parts of the ‘Sounds of the Temple’ suite. The second part (0.93) is most significant for displaying the piano music, because it involves the use of polyphonic sounds, imitating other instruments. The first part of the suite (0.87) is based on a linear representation of sounds, imitating the sounds of bells. The third part (0.69) centers around the use of slow tempo as well as major tone deviations. Significant elements of the suite (mirror reprise, rhythmic transformation, monotonous repetition of phrases and sounds, application of guó huà techniques, texture elements) were determined on the basis of the measured complexity and harmony of performance, as well as their influence on national traditions. A comparison of performance using standard deviation suggested that the differences were based on monotonous repetition of phrases and sounds (1.07), which is attributed to a greater emphasis on the difficulty of performance than on other parameters. The paper’s practical implications involve the possibility of preserving expressiveness and ethnic elements while playing the piano, based on Chu Wanghua’s ‘Sounds of the Temple’ suite. Further studies might compare the elements that contribute to the expressiveness of performance in the ‘Sounds of the Temple’ suite by Chu Wanghua and ‘Flower Drum’ by Qu Wei.

The content revolves around a pilot teaching program conducted at a school in Jiangsu, China, involving blind and deaf students aged 8-12 years old. Key informants include experienced piano teachers specializing in blind student education. Data analysis combines qualitative methods from interviews and observations with quantitative data from surveys, leading to key findings on segmented practice, mastering music rules, technology integration, and curriculum design. The research results highlight the effectiveness of auditory-based learning strategies in enhancing blind students' rhythmic precision and melodic expression. Suggestions for improving inclusive piano education include integrating technology, designing tailored curricula, and conducting formal teaching evaluations.
