Cultural Capital in China? Television Tastes and Cultural and Cosmopolitan Distinctions Among Beijing Youth

Abstract: How does television taste function as cultural capital in contemporary China? This study shows how Chinese youth engage with global television fiction to mark their positions in China’s changing social and cultural hierarchies.
