“…The first is the inclusion of the individual perceptions, in fact, in the current version of the evaluation model the value functions have been defined by experts. In addition to their opinion, it could be interesting to receive feedbacks from citizens to understand how they really perceive the quality of places (Torrieri et al;2021) and how they would like to implement them. The multidimensional and subjective nature of quality encourages to combine the analysis of the public spaces from a regulatory approach with a constructive one, attentive to the differences between individual attitudes and needs.…”

“…MAVT can be used to address problems involving a finite and discrete set of alternative actions that need to be evaluated on the basis of conflicting objectives. Considering the evaluation of the social value of the historical heritage, Torrieri et al [31] proposed the application of community mapping which is a narrative device of the connections between places and people through a language clear to everyone: drawing. It is a special form of representation based on a participatory process which involves the inhabitants of a given identity in an exercise of selfrepresentation and recognition of local value.…”

“…Keywords relating to the field of investigation, such as Macael marble and Macael marble columns decay, were entered in these search engines. Following the described procedure, about 80 experts were selected 31 and the questionnaire was sent to each of them by e-mail. Through the analysis of the answers to the questionnaire, the danger index of the exogenous factors with respect to the degradation of the column was quantified in numerical terms 32 , as shown in table 3.…”

“…Efforts are directed towards finding methods for assessing the existential value of many social, historical, and similar aspects of heritage. Torrieri pointed out community maps as a wide-spread participatory tool in the assessment of the social value of cultural heritage (Torrieri et al 2021). However, in the neo-classical utilitarian framework of the economy, with exclusively human beings with innate value, the quantitative expression of the significance of certain historical and cultural value by the cost-benefit analysis method is still questionable.…”
