Many studies have tried to examine the cognitive style, but it is still relatively common because it tends to be associated with learning achievement in mathematics. Very few studies have tried to link cognitive style with mathematical creative thinking skills regarding gender. This comparative study compares students' mathematical creative thinking abilities based on cognitive style and gender. A total of 77 Class VII students of SMP Negeri II Langke Rembong were involved in this study. Data were collected using tests, namely tests of creative thinking skills and tests of cognitive style. The results of the analysis using Two Paths Anova show that there is no difference in students' mathematical creative thinking abilities based on cognitive style and gender. This study's results support various theories that cognitive style and gender do not determine a person's mathematical ability. Implications of results and strategies for improving mathematics creative thinking ability are discussed.

Citizenship Education requires learning strategies to be developed, namely Values Clarification Technique (VCT) and social science inquiry. Another factor that has an impact on learning effectiveness is the cognitive style which consists of field dependence (FD) and field independence (FI). The research aims: first, to find out the differences in the acquisition of tolerant values with the application of values clarification learning strategies and social science inquiry; Second, knowing the difference in the value of tolerance for those who have FD and FI; And third, knowing the interaction between the application of learning strategies and cognitive styles in the development of tolerance. Experimental research with a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects were undergraduate level students who were taking Civics courses. Four classes were selected as samples using a cluster sampling, with a total of 149 students who became respondents. Cognitive style test and tolerance test as instruments. Data analysis using MANOVA. Conclusion: first, there is a significant difference in the tolerant attitudes of students between classes that implement VCT and social science inquiry learning activities. The class that applied the VCT strategy got a posttest average tolerance attitude higher than the social science inquiry class; Second, there is no difference in the tolerant attitude of students who have a significant cognitive style; And third, there is interaction between learning strategies and cognitive styles in the development of tolerance. Overall, this research contributes to increasing tolerant attitudes which end at the academic level and attitudes of students. Keywords: learning strategies, cognitive style, tolerance

The Effects of Using Smartphones on the Cognitive Speed of Gifted Students

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of smartphone use on the cognitive speed of gifted students and its utilization in their education. To gather data for the study, a self-developed questionnaire was administered to 280 students in the region. The findings of the study revealed that smartphone usage may enhance intuitive thinking among gifted students but does not necessarily enhance their critical thinking and creativity. Additionally, the study highlighted that excessive use of smartphones could lead to poor concentration, depression, and anxiety, among other negative effects. While smartphones can be beneficial for gifted students to enhance their learning and improve academic performance, excessive and uncontrolled use of smartphones may have a detrimental impact on students' academic outcomes. The study concludes that the use of smartphones could positively influence the intuitive (emotional) thinking and social lives of gifted students. However, it is important to note that smartphones might negatively affect their critical and analytical thinking. Smartphones play a significant role in young people's lives and can impact education positively. Limiting their use in education may hinder access to knowledge in society.
