Current issues of therapy in the scientific heritage of Academician Lyubov Trokhymivna Mala and her school (to the 20th anniversary of the death of L. T. Mala)

Abstract

The review, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the death of Academician Lyubov Trokhymivna Mala, provides data on her scientific, medical and pedagogical activities, focuses on the interests of this outstanding personality in the leading issues of internal medicine, including acute myocardial infarction, endothelial dysfunction, atherogenesis, heart failure, arterial hypertension, issues of gastroenterology, nephrology, pulmonology, pharmacotherapy. The authors highlight the achievements of students and followers of Academician Mala in the investigation of basic internal diseases from the standpoint of their comorbidity, and present information on the development of effective approaches to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of leading therapeutic pathologies by the scientists of the Institute of Therapy.
