Current technologies in the extraction, enrichment and analytical detection of tocopherols and tocotrienols: A review

Abstract: During the past few years the scientific and medical community has been confronted with a continual interest in vitamin E with the interest prompted by new discoveries. Tocopherols and tocotrienols, commonly known as vitamin E, are extremely invaluable compounds and have various nutritional functionalities and benefits to human health. Great deals of research projects have been launched in order to develop effective methods for the extraction of vitamin E. By and large, three distinct extractive methods are us… Show more

“…Tocopherols have commanded the most interest because of their availability and overall health impact, and their central role in preventing oxidation at the cellular level [38]. Tocopherols are a group of fat-soluble antioxidants and can be divided into α-, β-, γ-, and δforms [39].…”

“…Tocopherols and tocotrienols, collectively referred to as tocols or vitamin E, are a family of naturally occurring fat-soluble compounds, which include eight members (α-, β-, γ-, and δ-tocopherol (T); α-, β-, γ-, and δ-tocotrienol (T3)) [1]. As shown in Figure 1, tocols consist of two primary parts: the chromanol ring and the hydrophobic side chain.…”

“…Effect of anionic surfactant on mesoporous particles for removal of methylene blue reached after 20 min from starting reaction. After that, the removal of dye was increased slowly due to particle aggregation resulting from high adsorbent mass [16] . The high are removal in case in modified samples was attributed to morphological, surface and low aggregations parameter.…”

“…It is an ultimate trendy model for a single solute system, depends on the apportionment of solute between an aqueous phase and solid phase at the stable [19] . Freundlich model depicts the adsorption within limited range only.Freundlich equation was listed in Table1;'n' values are among 1 and10 that represent suitable adsorption [16] . Freundlich isotherms adsorption for (MB) viewed as in Figure (5b).…”
