Curvature Analysis for Composite With Orthogonal, Asymmetrical Multi‐layer Structure

Abstract: Abstract. An option for reducing material consumption in bent construction is flat plate replacement with a curved or saddle shaped plate (shell). This option applies to plywood sheet, provided that the curved or saddle shaped plates are made in widely used multilevel plywood presses with parallel shelves using layers with an appropriate physical properties, geometric dimensions and orientation, creating a structurally asymmetrical sheet, relative to mid-surface. Improved currently used method for calculation … Show more

“…Camber of the main cable begins to increase but the level of prestressing begins to fall, so internal forces in the main cable decrease and then the process of steel yield stops at the defined level. It was assumed that if CFRP layer destructs in one place of the cable, it will be totally excluded from the cable work (Sliseris, Rocens 2010).…”

“…Cable truss is modelled by two node link type compression less finite elements (LINK10 in ANSYS). The analysis type is geometrically nonlinear static including large-deflection effects, because suspension cable structures are characterized with large deflections before stabilization (Šliseris, Rocēns 2010;Eurocode 3 2007).…”

“…Accurate evaluation of all factors by determining the slip of layers in respect of each other and its effect on the structural behaviour under the acting load is a complicated task (Bullo, Di Marco 2004;Gurkšnys et al 2005;Šliseris, Rocēns 2010). Commonly, it is suggested to use empirical formulas or experimental data like it was suggested in the design standards.…”
