Abstract:BackgroundFamilial gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) has been identified with multiple GISTs harboring the mutations in germline KIT and PDGFRA. There are only 35 kindreds with germline KIT and 6 with PDGFRA mutations have been reported to date.
