Abstract:Malaria is a vector-borne tropical infection caused by protozoa of the genus
Plasmodium
and is transmitted by the bite of an infected Anopheles mosquito. The disease is commonly characterized by fever, edema, thrombocytopenia, hypoglycemia, anemia, and myalgias; however, the infection’s cutaneous presentations are not commonly emphasized and tend to be overlooked.
