“…11,35 A.indica was reported to increase the rate of wound contraction and faster re-epithelialization compared to betadine ointment used as positive control. 36 Bacopa monnieri, Acalypha indica and Calotropis gigantea were selected for investigating their combinatorial efficacy on the architectural changes in the histology of wound tissue post healing in comparison with that of the individual extract treatment groups. Changes with respect to skin tissue histology, epidermal differentiation, epidermal & dermal thickness, cell proliferation tendency, angiogenesis and collagen type I remodeling were assessed using suitable assays.…”

“…Acalypha wilkesiana has been used in various countries for management of different topical conditions. Laut et al, 17 developed medicated ointment containing extract of A. indica leaves obtained from Indonesia which exhibited wound healing process in the incision wound models by enhanced wound contraction and shortened epithelization period. Fawehinmi et al, 18 showed that Acalypha wilkesiana ethanol extract obtained from Nigeria, has high potential as an anti-dermatophyte agent when formulated as cream for topical application.…”
