Subcutaneous cysticercosis of the scalp mimicking trichilemmal cyst: a rare case Cysticercosis is a parasitic infection caused by the larvae of Cysticercus cellulosae of Taenia solium. The disease is widely endemic in North India, with an incidence of 18.6%, infecting around 50-100 million people worldwide. 1 Subcutaneous cysticercosis of the head and neck can be associated with neurocysticercosis. Here, we report a rare presentation of cutaneous cysticercosis over the scalp without any neurological involvement.
