Abstract:250 species, is the largest genus in the Alpinieae tribe, Alpinoideae subfamily, and Zingiberaceae family. Alpinia was found in tropical Asia, Australia, the Solomon Islands, the New Hebrides, New Caledonia, Fiji, and Samoa, as well as other Pacific island nations. 1,4,5 There are over 160 species in the genus, most of which are found in the Malesian region.
