“…To reconstruct the phylogenetic tree, another five relative sequences from four identified jellyfish-derived fungi, Epicoccum purpurascens [ 19 ], Phoma sp. [ 47 ], Aspergillus fumigatus [ 48 ] and Paecilomyces variotii [ 17 ], were used. These five ITS sequences were FR822845, GQ352490 [ 18 ], KH00184 [ 18 ], JX022941 and JN8509969, respectively.…”

“…1) was isolated from Phoma sp. fungus obtained from the giant jellyfish Nemopilema nomurai (22). This toxin interferes with cytoskeleton functions by inhibiting actin polymerization (23,24).…”

“…The number of fungal isolates received from twigs, shells and leaves of Corylus avellana was greater than those obtained from young and mature leaves of Ocimum basilicum. The endophytic fungal isolates were identified and belonged to 14 commonly isolated endophytic genera such as Alternaria, Fusarium, Phoma, Pestalotiopsis, which have also been reported as producers of the anticancer compounds: taxol, cytochalasins, podophyllotoxin [25][26][27][28][29]. Among all the isolates, Phoma with about 19% isolates was the dominant genus.…”
