“…An increase in hepatic carbohydrates, proteins and DNA was observed in rats given and AlCl 3 plus grapefruit. These results are in line with the report of [36] and [37] who reported that grapefruit juice restores the renal contents of carbohydrates and proteins to normal contents. [13] reported that rats were given grapefruit juice prior to treatment with aflatoxin-B 1 resulted in a noticeable reduction of DNA damage in the liver.…”

“…Eahy.926 cells are vascular endothelial cells and are used as a cellular model of the vascular wall. Eahy.926 cells are used to study the toxicity of nanomaterials on the vascular endothelium [32,33]. The reason for the choice of these two cells lies in the application of these nanomaterials in drug delivery.…”

“…Choi et al (2002) demonstrated that L-132 human lung cell line treated with amiodarone exhibited several features of apoptosis and increase in the messenger RNA levels of Bax and caspase 3. It was reported that the predominant molecular mechanism of amiodarone-induced toxicity is the trigger caused by oxidative damage due to production of reactive oxygen species (Golli-Bennour et al, 2010). Vereckei et al (1993) mentioned that amiodarone generated free radicals in vitro by chemiluminometric method and caused a significant increase of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, and ferrous ion induced lipid peroxidation in the liver microsomal fraction.…”
