Dakryozystorhinostomie - heutige Verfahren, Indikationen, Ergebnisse

Abstract: With appropriate operative technique and in experienced hands, the success rates of endonasal DCR are practically equal to those of the classical external approach. Major advantages of the endonasal approach are shorter operation times, lower complication rates and reduced patient morbidity. Neither silicone stenting nor the application of mitomycin C are routinely indicated. Laser-assisted techniques do not currently appear to improve results. Appropriate postoperative care is essential to prevent endonasal s… Show more

“…Therefore, intranasal evaluation and the ears, nose and throat (ENT) consultation and/or diagnostic nasal endoscopy can discover the intranasal pathologies that may lead to the failure of DCR ( 22 ). Therefore, the current study aimed at evaluating the patients who underwent external DCR and had recurrent tearing by diagnostic paranasal sinus computed tomography (CT) scan before and during endoscopic revision.…”

“…Stenting-related complications (endonasal crusting, granulations, infection, lesion of the canaliculus or lacrimal punctum, irritation of the cornea, discomfort of the patient) can be avoided [ 958 ]. Currently stenting is only recommended with (additional) presaccal/functional stenosis [ 960 ], [ 961 ]. For functional dacryostenosis, significantly poorer results of simple DCR are reported (66 vs. 96% [ 960 ]).…”

“… Furthermore the necessity of local postoperative care is reduced in DCR performed with mucosal flaps [ 965 ]. A blind sac in the nasolacrimal duct in caudal direction must be avoided [ 961 ], [ 972 ]. The success rates depend on the experience of the surgeon [ 973 ].…”
