“…Findings from the on-site work conducted in the post-earthquake period by the Unità Operativa di Ingegneria Sismica of the Dipartimento di Ingegneria delle Strutture, delle Acque e del Terreno (DISAT-UOIS) are presented. The paper follows the mainstream of other works present in the literature, which describe the scenario of structural damages induced by other destructive seismic events of the past decades, such as the earthquakes which stuck the Irpinia [9] and Molise region [10] in Italy, the town of Pyrgos [11] and the Lefkada island [12] in Greece, the Ağri province in Turkey [13,14], the Northridge community in the United States [15], the Kobe-Osaka region in Japan [16], the Wenchuan county in China [17,18], the south-east Asia [19]. Similarly to many of these studies, the paper is based on an early field reconnaissance, and aims to characterize the particular earthquake signature, as well as the typical structural response, from the recurrences in the seismic effects on buildings of different typologies.…”
