Investigations are made on the exoelectron emission (EEE) of tribomechanically activated aluminium by evaluating decay and glow curves in the temperature range from 120 to 600 K. The emission curve is explainable by the successive sorption of H2O and O2 and its influence on the work function. The decay curve is supposed to be determined by two simultaneous processes: 1. the annihilation of emission centres due to growth of oxide and 2. photoemission of electrons from the remaining electron‐trap‐like‐centres.
