Data based two-body current contribution to neutrino-nucleus cross section

Tomasz Bonus,

Michał Siemaszko
et al.

Abstract: A phenomenological model of two-body current (2p2h) contribution to neutrino cross section is introduced. Predictions of the Valencia model for 2p2h [1] are modified using recent CC0π measurements from T2K and MINERvA experiments. Our results suggest a significant increase of the 2p2h cross section at neutrino energies bigger than 1 GeV and also a redistribution of 2p2h events as function of energy and momentum transfer. This may have a big impact on neutrino energy reconstruction in neutrino oscillation param… Show more

“…Multiple hypotheses have been considered to explain this observation. We note that a recent publication in which NuWro models are fit to T2K and MIN-ERvA data sees a similar effect when fitting the MIN-ERvA data [31] and attributes it to Peelle's Pertinent Puzzle [36].…”

“…In particular, such χ 2 st statistics can suffer from so-called Peelle's Pertinent Puzzle [214] (see Ref. [199] for a possible remedy to deal with this problem). Recall that the SM RFG + M run A models and G18 tunes satisfactory describe the T2K data on water target exposed to the same ν µ beam.…”
