Data Envelopment Analysis Based on Choquet Integral

Abstract: Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a widely used technique in decision making. The existing DEA models always assume that the inputs (or outputs) of decision-making units (DMUs) are independent with each other. However, there exist positive or negative interactions between inputs (or outputs) of DMUs. To reflect such interactions, Choquet integral is applied to DEA. Selfefficiency models based on Choquet integral are first established, which can obtain more efficiency values than the existing ones. Then, the i… Show more

“…(2018). As a matter of fact, using such an approach to incorporate preference information or criteria interactivity is a contemporary trend, with a few authors focusing on traditional MCDA methods for both (see, e.g., Figueira et al., 2009; Corrente et al., 2014), but on traditional DEA only for the latter (see, e.g., Ji et al., 2015; Xia and Chen, 2017). Still, so far, only Pereira et al.…”

“…One of the biggest advantages of the DEA method is to enhance the relative efficacy of the decision-making units through optimizing the share of the weighed sum of the outputs to the weighted sum of the inputs [113][114][115][116][117][118][119][120][121]. DEA has a strong discerning ability in finding the valuable information in data [122][123][124][125]. This strength has a direct negative relationship with the number of variables, which means when the variables are more, DEA cannot reveal the useful patterns effectively [126].…”

“…Thus, the data should first be analyzed to extract the data that are necessary for the system to be intelligently operated. [3][4][5] The data analysis methods that can process the database in diverse ways have been proposed. Data mining, which is one of the data analysis approaches, is a technique that is used to analyze the data and find useful information.…”
