Day-ahead resource scheduling in smart grids considering Vehicle-to-Grid and network constraints

Abstract: A B S T R A C TEnergy resource scheduling becomes increasingly important, as the use of distributed resources is inten-sified and massive gridable vehicle use is envisaged. The present paper proposes a methodology for day-ahead energy resource scheduling for smart grids considering the intensive use of distributed generation and of gridable vehicles, usually referred as Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G). This method considers that the energy resources are managed by a Virtual Power Player (VPP) which established contracts… Show more

“…The smart charge and discharge consists in the network operator controlling the time and the power of EVs charge/discharge. The network operator will decide on when the most suitable periods for charging/discharging occur and on the amount of power [27]. Different goals can be considered in the charge/discharge scheduling, namely the operation costs minimization, the greenhouse gas emissions minimization [28] or the load variations minimization [29].…”

“…As the study confirms, taking advantage of the rapidly growing number of electric vehicles, there is no need for preliminary investment in storage systems. A novel technique for backing up the scheduling of a VPP is suggested in [25]. The purpose of this technique is to reduce the operation costs by considering the extensive integration of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G).…”

“…The energy resource scheduling problem is getting more atten-tion, as the use of DER is intensified and massive V2G use is envisaged [15][16][17][18]. Previous works were developed by the authors regarding scheduling considering V2G [2,3,[17][18][19].…”
