“…Given the structural similarities between moth SPs and those described in A. suturalis , we hypothesized that the pheromone biosynthetic pathways might also be similar. We initially identified four genes in A. suturalis as candidate pheromone biosynthesis genes based on sequence homology with key enzymes in moth SP biosynthesis (Luo et al ., ).
