Abstract:The increasing prevalence of severe obesity is a major public health concern. Bariatric surgery is an important treatment option for severe obesity due to its long-term sustained result. Multiple studies have shown that patients have an increased risk of developing inflammatory bowel disease following bariatric surgery.
