Abstract:Fifty three years old, healthy female patient had presented an acute severe anemia after intestinal bleeding within 2 days. She was hemodynamically stable even during extreme hemodilution with hemoglobin (Hb) below 3 g/dL. However, her condition deteriorated dramatically after Hb nearly 2 g/dL. The patient died solely of anemia at a hemoglobin concentration of 1.2 g/dL.
