“…Vega et al (2007) re-assigned Callianassa aquilae Rathbun, 1935 from the Upper Cretaceous strata of Texas, Louisiana and Mexico to Gourretia de Saint Laurent, 1973. Recently, Hyžný in Bermúdez et al (2013) erected a new genus, Rathbunassa , for the species, leaving Gourretia without fossil record. Material from Ottnang exhibits striking similarity to the major propodus of Callianassa denticulata Lutze, 1937, the type species of Gourretia (compare with López de la Rosa et al 1998, fig.…”

“…Vega et al (2007) transferred this species to Gourretia de Saint Laurent, 1973, but Bermúdez et al (2013) have recently noted that the material illustrated as Gourretia aquilae by Vega et al (2007) in fact comprised two different taxa. One proved to be conspecific with the type material of Callianassa aquilae and formed the basis for a new genus, Rathbunassa Hyžný in Bermúdez et al (2013). The second taxon awaits formal description.…”

“…The collection and description of Cretaceous crustaceans from Colombia have notably increased in recent years (Vega et al, 2007;Vega et al, 2010;Luque et al, 2013;Bermúdez et al, 2013), providing valuable information about the evolution and distribution of these organisms in tropical seas. Collections made from a new fossiliferous locality in the middle part of the Rosablanca Formation (Lower Cretaceous) produced numerous specimens of a new species of Diaulax Bell, 1863, Diaulax rosablanca n. sp.…”
