“…Although the results of species numbers and individual abundances revealed differences in the single statistical analysis in sites with and without human intervention, the multivariate analysis, null models and UNTB analysis revealed that the differences in both groups of sites are not significant. The weak differences between sites with different kinds of human intervention among the studied sites probably is due to the presence of Pyura praeputialis (Heller, 1878) which is a kind of key species that regulates the species composition on rocky shores in northern Chile (Guiller, 1959;Pacheco & Castilla, 2000;Castilla et al, 2004;Pacheco & Andrade, 2020).
