Decreased Expression of Pigment Epithelium-Derived Factor Is Involved in the Pathogenesis of Diabetic Nephropathy

Abstract: Pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF) is a potent angiogenic inhibitor. Previous studies have shown that decreased ocular levels of PEDF are associated with diabetic retinopathy.
