Abstract: Background. Large-airway lymphocytic inflammation (LB), assessed on endobronchial biopsies, has been associated with acute cellular rejection and chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD). Azithromycin (AZI) prophylaxis has been used to prevent airway inflammation and subsequent CLAD, with inconsistent results.
