Defect detection study on total focus method of sound field imaging based on parallel processing

Abstract: Abstact:In order to process real-time phased array ultrasound imaging, to improve imaging resolution, and achieve on-line defect detection, total focusing method (TFM) imaging algorithm is used for the complete data, thrust reversers the focus and algorithm in different positions, the computational problems of large data can be solved by the FPGA parallel algorithms. After that, the total focusing method imaging algorithm can be realized in the real-time detection.

“…Acoustic energy produced by the virtual source is higher and enables the NDE-20-1080 3 inspection at large depth with improved Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). TFM performance speed can be enhanced by reducing the number of independent firings [8,9]. However, without optimization of the transducer parameters, sparse array may produce the side lobe or grating lobes [1].…”

“…Guo et al [ 4 ] improved a TFM imaging system and proposed an algorithm based on read-only memory (ROM). Zhang et al [ 5 ] used a state machine, operation unit, and a large data storage unit to form the TFM algorithm imaging system, which achieved good performance. Tang et al [ 6 ] proposed a data transmission algorithm for UPAs, but it does not work with delay and focus.…”
