Deformation Analysis of East Mediterranean with using SSPX software

Abstract: Global Positioning System (GPS) is an advanced method for determining horizontal and vertical displacement. With the developing technology and data processing techniques, GPS can be used to determine the related/relative position and velocity of a point in millimeter accuracy. Deformation, which is the gradient of the displacement field, can be calculated by using GPS displacement vectors obtained from the measurements made in the interplate and plate boundaries and reveals important information about regional… Show more

“…this context, the boundaries and depths of the known structures were determined and the satellite gravity data were used to determine the sources of this activity in the region. The satellite gravitational, terrestrial gravity and GPS/GNSS data were successfully used to clarify tectonic elements in the Western Anatolian by previous studies Doğru et al, 2018;Kahveci et al, 2019;Malaliçi et al, 2019). The applications of boundary analysis, power spectrum, tensor and invariant methods were applied on theoretical data in order to determine the extension of a 3-D structure in this study.…”

“…The SSPX is a Macintosh, Cocoa/Universal application to calculate strain from displacement/velocity data in two and three dimensions [Cardozo and Allmendinger, 2009]. The SSPX calculates different types of deformation parameters (extension, shortening, dilatation and rotation) and provides the results as maps of their distribution over the investigated area [Cardozo and Allmendinger, 2009;Malaliçi, 2019;Malaliçi et al, 2019].…”
