Deformation Mechanism and Control Technology of the Surrounding Rock of the Floor Roadway under the Influence of Mining

Abstract: Deformation and failure mechanism of the surrounding rock of the floor roadway under the influence of working face mining is complicated, and roadway control is difficult. The floor roadway of the 11123 working face in Pan’er Mine is taken as the research object of this study based on semi-infinite body theory of elastic mechanics to establish a mechanical model along the advancing direction of the working face and derive the stress expression of any point in the affected area of floor mining. According to the… Show more

“…Roadway instability and collapse are primarily caused by plastic zone formation and growth. Zhao 26 calculated the implicit equation of the circular roadway's plastic zone boundary in a non‐axisymmetric stress field (Figure 1): A1ar8+A2ar6+A3ar4+A4ar2+A5=0A1=9false(1λfalse)2A2=12false(1λfalse)2+6false(1λfalse)2.25emcos.25em2θA3=10false(1λfalse)2cos22θ4false(1λfalse)2sin2φcos22θ2false(1λfalse)2sin22θ4(1λ2)cos.25em2θ+false(1+λfalse)2A4=4false(1λfalse)2.25emcos.25em4θ+2(1λ2)cos.25em2θ4(1λ2)sin2φ.25emcos.25em2θ4C(1λ)sin.25em2φ.25emcos.25em2θpA5=false(1λfalse)2sin2φ1+λ+2<...…”

“…However, it will force the shallow shattered rock mass outward, causing significant deformation and instability of the road. On the other hand, it will squeeze the shallow broken rock mass outward, resulting in large deformation and collapse of the roadway 25,26 …”

“…In the literature, the bidirectional, nonuniform stress circular roadway model is analyzed, which combines the stress expression at a point in the roadway surrounding rock using polar coordinates in elastic mechanics and the Mohr-Coulomb damage criterion to derive the implicit equation for the boundary of the plastic zone in the circular roadway in a nonuniform stress field [23]. The plastic zone boundary location in the roadway can be calculated for the given roadway specifics and surrounding rock stress conditions, as shown in Equation (2).…”

“…The shape and distribution characteristics of the plastic zone around a hole before failure are worth studying [14,15], and they are directly related to the disclosure of disaster mechanisms and methods of early warning [16]. In studies from recent years, the shape of the plastic zone around a hole can be roughly divided into a circle, ellipse, or butterfly (X shape) under different mechanical states obtained through theoretical calculation [17,18] and numerical simulation [19,20], and these features are called butterfly failure theory [21]. Under the action of a uniform stress field (the principal stresses in three directions are the same), the shape of the plastic zone around the hole is circular [22].…”
