“…From the comparison of these theoretical predictions with the most recent census of known SySts in the Milky Way (Akras et al 2019a;Merc et al 2019, and references therein) and the latest discoveries over the past few years (Merc et al 2020;Akras et al 2021;Merc et al 2021bMerc et al ,a, 2022Munari et al 2021Munari et al , 2022De et al 2022;Petit et al 2023), it is evident that many Galactic SySts are still missing and waiting to be discovered. Thus far, the vast majority of the known SySts if not all of them, have been discovered and identified following a number of criteria based on optical observations: (i) the detection of some typical emission lines (e.g., [Fe ] λ λ 5727,6087), Hα, [O ]λ 5007, and He λ 4686, (ii) the absorption molecular features such a TiO, VO, and CN that ensure the presence of a red giant, and/or (iii) the detection of the O Ramanscattered λ λ 6830,7088 lines (Mikolajewska et al 1997;Belczyński et al 2000;Akras et al 2019a).…”
